Hey all, in case you ever wonder “oh man, I wonder what a podcast of cool new music bookended with a nerdy voiced blogger introducing the songs would sound like?” I have your answer. I started doing this podcast for a sort’ve “online zine” thing. I know, lame. And so are podcasts. But there are good songs? Anyway just thought if you were interested you could check it out.
Little Boots-New in Town
YACHT-Psychic City (Voodoo City)
Passion Pit-Little Secrets
Rainbow in Arabia-Holiday in Congo
Patrick Wolf-Hard Times
File under: best tour name ever. A-Trak is hittin’ the road with some of his buddies this summer. It will be awesome. No date in Dallas? :( Date in Austin with one of the best line-ups…but I probably won’t go. Tour dates after the cut below.
In related A-Trak news, he did some scratches on Kid Cudi’s goofy take on Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” appropriately titled “Poke Her Face.” Well now word is that Cudi will release the track as his second single (following the ridiculously popular “Day N Nite”) but renamed as “Make Her Say.”
Is it just me, or does she look a little tired/bored in this video?
Here’s a musician for those of you that prefer your songs brooding, sweeping, and mildly epic. Think Andrew Bird and Beirut.
There’s a video for Dan Black’s re-working of his “Hypntz” and it’s full of cool opening montage scenes from movies made from the lyrics in the song. Thanks to Big Stereo for pointing it out (they’ve got a nice Passion Pit remix of the song too! Check it out!).

We are very excited about YACHT’s new album See Mystery Lights if you haven’t noticed (check the search button and search how many times we post on these dudes). Finally, Pitchfork premiered a new song from the album. Check it out!
The song is apparently a “cover version” of a song by Rich Jensen. Read more about it over at YACHT’s website, and listen to the original.
This new video for the Presets’ “Kicking & Screaming” from Apocalypso makes me sick I missed them on their last tour.
I have really really enjoyed Patrick Wolf’s new album The Bachelor. I didn’t know how I’d feel about it, because I only liked about three songs on The Magic Position, but this one’s a bit more consistent all the way through. Plus, having Tilda Swinton doing spoken word? Yes please.
Anyway, this remix of stand-out “Hard Times” by Jack Beats isn’t a radical change. But it does remind me of Patrick Wolf cruising around space on the Moonraker.
