Guys, you should probably head over to LA Friendly, who have the new Simian Mobile Disco track featuring Gossip’s Beth Ditto “Cruel Intentions.” It’s totally a 70’s disco track, with Beth’s voice strutting all over synth stabs and ohhh man. It’s killer! I only wish it really went somewhere or Beth could use more of her voice if that makes sense.

Okay I spoke too soon. Some little birdies dropped these off in my inbox this morning and I just had to post them, even though every other blog will too.
There was also a Metronomy remix of this, but the vocals turned me off. Hey Metronomy, just remix The Juan Maclean’s “One Day” already will ya? Anyway, AIH’s trumpets make this track feel warm and delectable.
I’m glad Little Boots is putting out another single. The video should be cool for this one. Rusko does a fine job on this remix. Love the bassy hits and synth splatters.
Guys today is the day that YACHT’s See Mystery Lights is out! You should go buy it. Because, I didn’t think it was possible, but the album is better than I Love You. Your Magic is Real. Maybe it’s the DFA-like energy the band has now, but still with their unique twist on electronic music. You won’t be disappointed by the album!!
And keep an eye out for a video for the song “Psychic City (Voodoo City)” and a remix by Classixx.

So I mentioned in my last post that I haven’t been feeling much new music or anything lately, and it’s only getting worse. This week I’m heading down to Austin to relax before heading back up to school next week. So this week for sure will be pretty sparse music-wise, and probably the beginning half of next week. I thought I’d leave you with a smattering of tunes I’ve been enjoying and hope you guys continue to enjoy the summer sun.
♫ Grizzly Bear – Ready, Able (Live on David Letterman)
This is one of their best performances I’ve heard of this song, and has made me had the original on repeat.
♫ John Jacob Niles – You Got to Cross That Lonesome Valley
Folk artist with a beautiful voice, who inspired Joan Baez and Peter, Paul and Mary apparently. Gorgeous voice.

E*Rock, brother of E*Vax (1/2 of Ratatat), and co-dude of Audio Dregs Records, put together this sweet little mix of jilted disco tunes that’s made my last day 120% better. The best part is this baby right here.
I don’t know if it’s gonna show up on Bobby Birdman’s new record or what but I like it very much.
