I’m really excited about the debut album from NYC duo Blondes. They’ve released a few singles (including the amazing “You Mean So Much to Me“) and now February 7th RVNG Intl. will release their self-titled album. It’s a 2xCD affair, with disc one comprising their original tracks and disc 2 seeing those tracks reinterpreted by the likes of JD Twitch, Laurel Halo, Teengirl Fantasy and more. Here’s a track I really love:
And here’s the Teengirl Fantasy remix:
And here’s another, an “ICEY COLD TECHNO REMIX” from Bicep (super “icey”)
Hello! Back in the new year. Sorry for my absence but BACK TO BUSINESS.
The 2 Bears are continuing their worldwide domination plan by releasing a new single, “Work” this last Tuesday. The track features remixes from Oliver $, Supabeatz and more. The video’s below, in addition to an alternate remix from Frogs in Socks. You can download this alternate below, and grab their other remix on the remix package at Beatport. Their album Be Strong is out January 30 on DFA Records.

p.s. the pair are appearing soon on the BBC for a two-hour long “essential mix” so be on the lookout
Love this new EP from the group Cadillac. They’ve signed to the hip Australian label Future Classic and this EP is pure gold. The 2×12″ and digital release include a set of remixes by Ray mang, Marcus Cabral and, oh my, Miracles Club. Here’s that one right here. Mmmmhmmm.
Here’s the original for comparison. They reworked the lyrics into a deep house vibe that really works, I think. Though the original is lots of fun too.
You can hear the rest of the EP and preorder it here.

This weekend a cloud of good times will descend on Dallas! Brazileños CSS return in support of their fantastic new album La Liberacion bringing along with them MEN and EMA (it’s also a great day for caps lock). They’re playing at the House of Blues tomorrow night (Oct. 28th) and having seen CSS and MEN before it’s something you won’t want to miss. It’s also the one of the last nights of their joint tour so let’s send them home after a great show!
Tickets are $18, $20 the day of the show (so get ‘em today!). Doors at 7 show starts at 8. On other shows this tour they’ve done a drag queen show at the beginning of the night so make sure to be there early to see a local queen lip sync for her life!
Also CSS and MEN have an exlusive 7″ wherein each band remixes the other. Here’s a preview of that!

The Irrepresibles are a ten-piece British performance art/music group whose music video for “In This Shirt” has been described as a mix between Antony & the Johnsons and Patrick Wolf. It’s maybe a little NSFW but here it is:
They’ve released a remix single for the song, featuring edits from Royksopp, Hercules & Love Affair and Zero 7. Here’s the H&LA remix below. You can buy the single on iTunes.
