Trials + Tribulations

SXSW Day 4

dscf3451Well the madness is over finally after a long week of sun and sweat. Yesterday there weren’t many day shows that attracted me so I only went to the second-worst-kept-secret appearance by Kanye West at the Fader Fort yesterday. It was a neat way to do it, because he was on stage the whole night with a revolving door of people from his label G.O.O.D. So other performers with him included Consequence, Common, Big Sean, 88 Keys, Kid Cudi, GLC, Mr. Hudson, Fonzworth Bentley, special guest Erykah Badu and many more.
All of the times I’ve heard/seen Kanye on TV, his sound is always off. Especially his vocals. But last night he seemed really on top of it. He played stuff from all of his albums, but of course more from 808’s & Heartbreak. They all sounded really rad live, and was a great experience. Now I never have to go see him play some crazy-huge stadium thankfully. Here’s a video of Kanye playin’ with Kid Cudi courtesy of Too Many MC’s. Check out the setlist at Rolling Stone.

My sister, on the other hand, went to go see the White Lies and PJ Harvey at Stubb’s. We love PJ a lot around here. I would’ve gone too but they were only letting in badges and wristbands for them. But for some reason afterwards when Indigo Girls and Third Eye Blind were going to go on they started selling tickets at $35 each? Ridiculous. Anwyay she took a TON of pictures and a video. She looks super happy in these, and hope she does a lot of touring in support of her new album with John Parrish.
