Fall On Your Sword are Phill Mossman, one-time LCD Soundsystem member, and Will Bates. Together they have scored five feature-length films, their newest being for the sci-fi drama Another Earth. They’re releasing extended edits of songs from the score on DFA Records, and for good reason. The glitchy space anthems fit right next to Juan Maclean on the DFA bookcase. Hear the original version of the A-side “The First Time I Saw Jupiter” below and check out the trailer for the film if you haven’t seen it yet. The single is out July 26th on DFA.

Juan Maclean’s main man has a new project up his sleeve.

Built on tracks he felt were too “house-y” to be included amongst the more song-oriented singles on a proper The Juan MacLean release, Peach Melba is Maclean’s vehicle for releasing a stream of upcoming DJ friendly 12″s. The project’s output is decidedly faithful to the blueprint of those aforementioned early productions, emphasizing rolling melodies and big vocal hooks.

The first 12″ of this series is set to be released July 27th. It’s called “Can’t Let Go,” and it’s backed by a dub, and a “dub of dub” which strips the song down to its basic elements.

Pre-order the 12″ now from DFA.
