This weekend a cloud of good times will descend on Dallas! Brazileños CSS return in support of their fantastic new album La Liberacion bringing along with them MEN and EMA (it’s also a great day for caps lock). They’re playing at the House of Blues tomorrow night (Oct. 28th) and having seen CSS and MEN before it’s something you won’t want to miss. It’s also the one of the last nights of their joint tour so let’s send them home after a great show!

Tickets are $18, $20 the day of the show (so get ’em today!). Doors at 7 show starts at 8. On other shows this tour they’ve done a drag queen show at the beginning of the night so make sure to be there early to see a local queen lip sync for her life!

Also CSS and MEN have an exlusive 7″ wherein each band remixes the other. Here’s a preview of that!

You Are All I See

I’d avoided listening to Active Child for a long time because I mistook him for another group (Shy Child). But what I have heard I really like. It’s that slowed down R&B kind’ve music with out-of-this-world vocals and lots of cool ambience. His new album You Are All I See is coming out at the end of this month, and for a week Hype Machine is streaming the whole thing. Listen to it here. You can preorder the album on iTunes now.

Active Child – Playing House (ft. How to Dress Well)

Active Child is also going on tour with Com Truise and Chad Valley, those dates behind the cut.

Chromeo have got a new album coming out called Business Casual and if the first single is any indication, this one’s gonna be another barnburner. “Don’t Turn the Lights On” has been given the remix treatment by Aeroplane, and also a slick video.

Don’t Turn the Lights On (Aeroplane Remix)

You can pre-order Business Casual now and choose from some pretty cool packages that include t-shirts, limited edition lithographs, and of course, the CD and/or LP. Preorder here (US only). The album is out September 14th.

The duo is also setting clubs across the nation on fire with DFA upstarts Holy Ghost! in tow. They’re playing a free show here in Salt Lake next Thursday with Big Boi, which I am pretty excited about.
